The last rejection letter really did a number on my confidence. Rejection letters are nice cause at least I know someone is looking at my work. Been gettin a lot of good reviews.....just no jobs. :O( But after 3 years and a ton of rejection letters, I find myself thinking that maybe I'm crazy and need to stop. The other day I opened maya ( the 1st time in weeks!) just to see how I feel about it. I found myself animating again. The feeling of having no hope disappeared and I found myself with a renewed passion. I can and will make it.....I just need to keep moving forward. ;O) Anyways, no more rambling on, here's my next shot....thanks for looking and will try to post my progress. lol Was so happy to get that 1st paycheck.....lol Of course they were really late paying me, but at least I got paid. I need to find another job as this contract is ending. I have been looking non stop for a job for the past couple of months and nothing. Kinda depressing to tell you the truth. Don't know if I can hack this industry. It never seems like I have enough experience. Wish I had another job...of course with a longer contract. Would be nice. :O( Oh well, back to lookin. I haven't got that job yet....but then again, I haven't really been animating (or looking) that much since finishing school. I know, shame on me. I am slowly getting back to it. Here's my toilet I fixed!! lol Had to replace the wax seal and get a brace for the flange cause the floor was uneven. lol Maybe I should become a handy man.....hmmmmm. I guess I'm just intimidated when it comes to being an animator. There are just sooo many great ones out there. I'm scared I'm not good enough. :O( Oh well. Time to face it , work on that demo reel and at least try to get that dream job. Below all the toilet stuff I put a jump test I did. "I gave up neuroscience and doctoring to become an animator (and guess what -- brain surgery is actually easier than character animation), and I've been doing it professionally for the last 11 years. My new mentor is.....RYAN DONOGHUE!! Woo-Hoo!!! I messed up though and missed my first Q&A. I thought is was Friday at Midnight when it was Thursday at midnight. I guess being sick got the best of me. :O( I'm so upset with myself. Oh well, can't do anything about it now. Anyways, here's some info on him. I can't wait to meet him and the rest of the class.

"Ryan Graduated California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in animation. He worked for 4 years on Futurama, a television show. He also worked at Rhythm & Hues doing cg work while on hiatus from Futurama. Once the tv show was over He spent some time working freelance and then doing concept design for Sammy Studios, a video game company. Ryan the went back to Rhythm & Hues and has stayed there since 2003. He has such credits as Scooby Doo 2, Garfield 1 and 2, Elektra, and The Chronicles of Narnia. He is currently working on A Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller."

Tweaked my prior poses. Not for an assignment though..... I feel I need to do this to improve in Maya. Everything is becoming a lot easier to navigate....kudos to A.M. :OP I got " Over The Hedge" the other day....it is such an awesome movie!! Went to the live Q&A with Shawn Kelly last night and it was sweeet!!! Sooo many people showed up....maybe even all of the first classmen(and women.) It lasted till like 2:30 am...time just flew!;oP We did have a lot of technical difficulties though. Bobby Beck showed up but didn't say much.(drats!!) So I start off with an A. It was an easy A,( I know...an A is an A!!;OP) all I had to do was set up my profile, upload an avatar (a pic of me) and tell the class why I was at A.M during the Q&A. The last one was the hardest....being a relatively shy person and new to the whole web cam thing. I was soooo nervous. I'm finding out how much this stuff runs thru my blood. Every night I try to get some learning in and when I'm done.....it never leaves my mind. It's hard to go to sleep. I catch myself constantly thinking about animation.....think I'm goin crazy!!;OP I'm hopin to go to the park with the kids sometime soon so I can work on some drawings for the next assignment. I want to post it on A.M. by Weds to see what people think. Then I'll pick the best pose and put Stu in it over the weekend. At least that's my plan...we'll see how it goes! heehee

Wow!! That was crazy! My stomach was in knots the whole time! Everyone in the class was cool. I have to say though, I felt like the only person who was completely new to this. I took a screen shot pic but didn't know if I was allowed to post that stuff. So I just didn't. Dave Burgess is bad a@#! He's worked on sooo much stuff! The class set up was pretty sweet! I loved the way it flowed and how the mentor had complete control. Anyways, after our intros we didn't have much time. I think we got off 3 questions and that was it. It was amazing how fast time flew! I look forward to the upcomin Q & A's and working with my class mates. Can't believe I'm there......butterflies in my stomache need to go away! ;O) Anyways, till next post.......PEACE!!!!
